• Gained theoretical and practical knowledge through lectures and two mainstream school
teaching placements in Surrey (Waverley Abbey C of E School and All Saints Infant School)
where I taught literacy and maths on a one-to-one basis to a Year 4 girl & a Year 1 boy with
SpLDs
• My specialist teacher training at the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre gave me the skill set to
identify and plan specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely (SMART) lessons
• Used multi-sensory teaching strategies for learners with SpLDs and put together Individual
Learning Plans (ILPs) that best met the needs of my learners
• My training also taught me how to analyse reports (Educational Psychologist and Specialist
Assessor), carry out assessments and how to identify SpLDs in children

E-Qualitas’ Graduate Training Programme (GTP), Jan 2011 – Nov 2011

• Gained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in November 2011 having teacher trained through the
GTP scheme while working at Wetherby School. Grade: ‘Outstanding’. Completed my NQT
